Teachers Day on the 5th of September- students honor their teachers

We send out kids to school and rely on the teachers to guide our kids to the utmost level of training them and molding them into successful adults. It is our kids teachers who we have to credit and appreciate for playing a prominent role in our kids lives. For this a special day is marked to honor the teachers for the effort they put in towards our kids from adolescence to adulthood.

Every year on the 5th of September Teachers Day is being celebrated to commemorate the teachers all over India. Its a day dedicated to teachers who act as our guides and play an important role in our life as students. We are enriched and enlightened by their discipline and knowledge that they impart to us as teachers. We in return celebrate this day to honer them for their efforts given to us throughout the year. We have all been a student sometime in our lives and we need to carry on honoring them.... our kids learn from us and will follow us.....

Teachers day celebrations
The day is celebrated with teachers and students attending school but replace the usual routine and activates by the celebrations. Teachers act as students while students dress and imitate their teachers in a form of skits and plays. Sweets are served out to the students to celebrate.

Help your kids plant blueberry plants, they would feel proud of

Kids love playing games on the computer when their parents are not using it, and its quite fine unless you draw the boundaries of time usage. Parents should check on the time and now allow kids to play games for more than an hour or two in a day. If you allow them more than the granted time. Too much play would affect their health as too much of computer use restricts their growth taking into consideration the amount of physical activity needed for growth.

But make sure these games are played under your strict surveillance and limited time or else this could also affect their studies if they become too addicted. Ramadan activities for kids, parents and teachers

Almost a billion people observe Ramadan which is the ninth month of the Muslim calendar. During the month, Muslims fast (do not eat) from sunrise to sunset. In the evening and in the morning before the sun comes up, they eat small meals. During this month, they take extra time for family, inner reflection, and spiritual growth. Every family who participates in the fasting has a child or children who also take part in the observations. A child may or may not fast depending on his ability(age)- but they can however, engage themselves in other Ramadan activities. Crafting special projects for Ramadan is a good idea and is fun... lets check it out... even for teachers!

Charity Decorated Jar



Ramadan is that time of the year to rememer most the poor and the needy.
Charity is a big part of the celebration of the month of Ramadan. Ask the
children to bring a jar. Explain to them that in the jar they will collect coins
for the whole month of Ramadan. Help the children decorate the jar, using
colorful stickers of their choice. Let them collect coins in it , either from
their allowance or make an arrangement with their parents to give them
some of the change they have in their pockets, every day.for the remainder
of the month. At the end of the month, let the children count the change
and give it to the mosque or any other charity organization that helps those
in need.

Moon Project

For younger children,

As we know Ramadan begins and ends with the birth of the new moon. This project will be a
good one for preschoolers.

1- Let each group of children (4-6 children in a group), work together to create a night sky on
a black or dark blue construction paper. If they can draw stars by themselves, let them add stars,
or let them stick on stars (the self-sticking kind) or a combination of both. They can use white,
yellow, gold, or silver crayons, pencils, or markers.

2- Create a moon for every group or let them do it, if they can cut a circle in a white construction
paper. You may also use a black construction paper then color it white or silver to represent a
full moon.

3- Slice each moon into 6 pieces, they will be crescent shapes. You may cut the moon into two
halves first, then each half into three pieces. Number these pieces on the back
to remember which piece comes next. Remember that each half moon takes seven days to
develop. It takes two weeks to develop into a full moon. Each piece will represent a stage of
the moon.

4- As you go through the month, ask the children to observe the moon every night from the
first day. When they come to the class ask them to use glue or better to use velcro
to stick the first piece (crescent) on the night sky background. Every 2-3 days as they see
the moon getting bigger, you can let them add the next piece. Keep doing this to the end of
the month. Remember the second half of the month you will have to remove pieces, one by
one every 2-3 days, until there is no moon at the end of the month.

Moms, pamper your little one to a luxury bath robe

Kids often don't like bathing and oh yes, well actually they do love bathing soap getting into their eyes is what they don't delight in. But you can always have fun baths and allow your family a happy bath time together. They so much deserve a towel wrap, don't they? Why not use a luxury a bath wrap once they are out of the shower or bath tub, wiped and ready to snuggle in. Its so much fun and practical too! This helps to keep them warm and they will also regard a bath as an enjoyable activity.

Moms would love wetting themselves while playing blowing bubbles in the bath tub, so take this opportunity to treat your-self to a terry bath robe. It is of gold standard, thick and warm and 100% cotton of course! I believe this would also prove as an excellent gift for your teenage daughter or from a daughter to her mother! They'll adore the unusual gift for sure.

As a playful mother, you could also try the waffle bath robe which is lighter in weight. Lighter enough, for you to carry your darling kids out of the bathroom in case they plan on another bath.

Let your toddlers and older kids help with minor household chores

Do you or don't you mind your children helping in the tiny chores at home? i guess most moms with kids aged 3 and above would love help from their kids so as to lessen workload or while engaged with other major chores, yet wont allow their kids to touch a thing for fear of mishaps. All you have to do is interact with them yourself close by or from a distance while they are busy doing the chores to ensure safety(emphasizing on toddlers)

Depending on age, stability, understanding and responsibility your kids would love to interact with you, and the work should sometimes come as an excuse, if always not a necessity. Toddlers who watch their parents peeling, cutting, washing etc etc.. would be eager to splash water around but thinking they're helping you! My daughter once helped me wash clothes and soon there were bubbles and soapy water everywhere, yet she was so happy that she helped her mom. Now kids of this age love being copy-cats of their mothers, so let them do it, provided they don't get in touch with chemicals or other dangerous articles.

Kids older, of course would love doing the vacuuming, washing the dishes or severing the table and a great way of showing them you value their contribution, is to let them do it and also reward them with love and extra play time. Even if they didn't ask to do it, you can always ask for their help. They are not perfect like parents but one can always re-do or add a finishing touch to the tidiness. As a parent you are teaching them several valuable lessons in life which would eventually be of great use to them in their future life and it definitely helps to enhance/boost their self-esteem.
